O’Snap

The Moment the Industry Heard Something Break (It Was the Old Way of Doing Business)

You ever hear something snap—not like a pencil, but like the first stressed cable of a rusty suspension bridge?
Yeah. That sound. That was the Kitchen & Bath industry… just now.O’Snap.Because something’s coming.
No wait—it’s already here.
It just hasn’t made enough noise yet. But it will.

It’s Sitting on the Porch Right Now

Imagine this: You’re sipping coffee, flipping through a pile of job folders, and suddenly—
BOOM.
Something shows up on your doorstep that looks a lot like… change.

And you didn’t ask for it.
Didn’t vote for it.
Didn’t even get a warning. (ok…maybe a few)

Inside that box?
Automation.
Efficiency.
Clarity.
And a set of tools that make the old way of running your business look like sending faxes from a horse and buggy…better reception I guess…

Oh—and it came with a note:

“Time to choose…. Sunrise or Sunset?”—

Why Things Are Snapping

We built customer experiences based on our limitations, not our potential.

No metrics? No problem.
No visibility? Just guess.
No systems? Let’s duct-tape a spreadsheet.

That’s not a strategy. That’s triage.

Quick ADHD Side Story…

I was walking into town the other day to see a man about a dog (don’t ask)…
and I started thinking—our industry isn’t bad because people don’t care.
It’s struggling because we haven’t had the tools, culture, or clarity to do better.

We’re overrun with smart, passionate, capable people who have spent years learning how to keep the train from derailing—
when what they should’ve been doing… is building a new train. A Bullet Train.

Breaking News:

Lowe’s Buys ADG for $1.325 Billion

Yep—you read that right.
On April 14, 2025, Lowe’s announced it’s acquiring Artisan Design Group—a national powerhouse in cabinet, countertop, and flooring distribution and installation. 132 locations. $1.8B in 2024 sales.

This isn’t retail fluff. ADG has deep roots in the trade business.

And now? Both giants are armed:

  • Home Depot has Wren Kitchens (heavy on retail).

    • Lowe’s just strapped ADG to its belt (all-in on trade).

What does this tell us?

It’s turf war time.

And there’s $60B+ in play, depending on how you count.

Here’s the kicker:
If the Home Centers grow just 6%, that’s billions coming straight out of Dealer hands.

So yeah—waiting for a “perfect plan” isn’t a strategy.
It’s a countdown.

For the Ones Already Moving…

Let’s be real:

This isn’t for the folks who are still asking for a show of hands.
This isn’t for the ones who need five case studies, a six-month vetting period, and a PowerPoint from the heavens to get things moving.

This is for the dealers who see the smoke, feel the heat, and already started moving.
The ones who know that waiting for consensus is a fast way to finish last.

You don’t build the future by dragging the past with you.

And stop trying to make your old processes fit in new systems and software… this isn’t refacing…. It’s a full remodel..

The ones grabbing the rings and running—together—are going to separate from the pack fast.
And the ones who can’t decide?

They’ll get a great view of the future too… from behind.

What’s Next?

Well… after O’Snap comes Crackle.
That’s when the process shifts light up.
When systems start connecting.
When everyone realizes, “Oh crap, this is really happening.”

Then comes Pop.
That’s when the industry breaks wide open.

But I’ll leave you with this:

Last week, I spoke with a business owner.
Let’s call him Paul.

At the end of our conversation, he said:

“It’s going to be a while before those AI tools are really available.”

I just smiled, nodded…
and looked toward a future that’s anything but defined by the past.

Let’s fly.
